Busy Bali market under umbrellas

In short

The consult is a one-to-one session in which our team builds a full-year budget around your pension currency, housing choice, health profile and travel habits, instead of a generic blog average.

  • Twelve months, your currency
  • Housing and health modelled
  • Not financial advice

The layers of your budget

Your written budget is split into fixed, variable, annual and one-off columns, so you can see which numbers you actually control.

The layers of your budget
Fixed housing High, then low Lease or rent, service charges, security, staff
Health and insurance Moderate Premiums, routine care, medication, dental, excess. Rises with age.
Everyday living High, lifestyle-driven Food, utilities, internet, household supplies, transport
Administration Low, externally set Permit renewals, translations, professional fees
Annual and periodic Moderate, plannable Flights, vehicle service, insurance renewals, home visits
Contingency You choose the size Medical events, currency swings, early exit

We do not publish fixed monthly figures. Rent, insurance and service prices are set by third parties and change, so we work from live quotations for your shortlist.

Why generic budgets fail

Why are published Bali cost estimates often wrong?

Most describe a young single person renting a room monthly. Common gaps: rent quoted monthly when leases are paid yearly, health cover left out, visa costs treated as one-off, flights home, currency moves, setup costs and no contingency.

How does housing change the whole budget?

Housing locks in the largest share of annual spend and shapes transport, healthcare access and social life. A cheaper lease further north can cost more once you add a car, fuel and hospital trips, so we model two or three scenarios.

What about currency and tax?

Your pension is paid in one currency and spent in another, so we stress-test the plan against a meaningful rate move. Tax residency and treaty questions belong with a licensed adviser. We flag the questions only.

Information, not financial advice

  • Housing and healthcare vary more between two households than the rest of the budget combined.
  • Prices for rent, insurance and services differ sharply by area and profile, and change through the year.
  • Tax residency, pension treatment and treaties are matters for a licensed adviser and the tax authorities.

Bali Retirement Guide provides budgeting and planning support as an information service. We are not licensed financial advisers and we do not give investment or tax advice.
