Healthcare navigation

Bali Retirement Healthcare Navigation Service

Where to be treated, how the system works, comparable insurance quotations and a written emergency plan, built before you need them.

Book Consultation

In short

Healthcare navigation helps Bali retirees choose where to be treated, understand the local system, gather insurance quotations suited to their age and history, and know in advance what to do in an emergency.

  • Coordination, not clinical care
  • We do not sell insurance
  • Plan made before you need it

How care is delivered in Bali

Bali runs parallel systems. Knowing which one you will use, and how it gets paid, prevents an unexpected bill or a delayed transfer.

Option 1

Public network

Runs under the national health insurance scheme. Foreign permit holders may participate in some circumstances.

Suits: Residents whose permit type allows enrolment

Option 2

Private clinics & hospitals

Where most foreign residents are treated. Payment is usually at the point of care unless your insurer bills directly.

Suits: Most foreign retirees, for access and language

Option 3

Transfer off the island

Serious or complex cases are often stabilised locally, then moved to Jakarta or Singapore. Evacuation is costly without cover.

Suits: Complex cases, if your policy covers evacuation

The two questions that shape the plan

Why is insurance the hardest part for older applicants?

International policies price sharply by age band and often exclude or load pre-existing conditions. Applying at sixty-eight is a very different market from cover taken at fifty and kept. It is the item retirees most underestimate.

Where should you live if health access matters?

Measure travel time to a capable facility in ordinary traffic. Forty kilometres can take two hours. Retirees with cardiac, oncological or mobility conditions generally do better in the south and the Denpasar corridor than in remote north or east Bali.

How the service works

Delivered by our team through WhatsApp, calls and written summaries.

  1. 1

    Tell us your situation

Your age band, general health and the area of Bali you are considering.

  2. 2

    Facility orientation

The types of facility near you and their general capability.

  3. 3

    Insurance comparison

Comparable quotations gathered, exclusions read carefully.

  4. 4

    Written emergency plan

Who to call, where your documents are, which policy number the hospital needs.

What to compare before requesting quotations

The purchase decision, and any advice about it, belongs with a licensed insurance professional. These are the variables worth understanding first.

  1. Geographic scope

Where you are covered, and whether Singapore is included.

  2. Evacuation limits

Evacuation and repatriation limits, and to where.

  3. Structure & deductible

Outpatient versus inpatient cover, and the deductible.

  4. Pre-existing conditions

How they are handled, and whether a moratorium applies.

  5. Billing & renewal

Direct-billing networks in Indonesia, and renewal terms as you age.

An honest note on limits

  • We do not publish other organisations' prices, waiting times, staffing or capability claims. Confirm them with the facility or insurer in writing.
  • We hold no affiliation with, and no agency for, any hospital, clinic or insurer.
  • Decisions about treatment, medication and cover should be made with licensed professionals.

Bali Retirement Guide is an information and coordination service. We are not doctors, nothing here is medical advice, and we do not sell insurance policies.
